It's official. Dan's finally back home in Indiana. A quick check of the state's online voter registration database shows that the carpet bags are unpacked and the Coats' are settling in to their new Meridian-Kessler address.

Lost in Translation...Kevin Kellems, that is.

Kevin Kellems, spokesman for the Dan Coats campaign, recently spoke to the Indystar about Dan getting the required signatures for ballot access. OK. Sounds straightforward enough. Let's read the quote to be sure...

Kellems said, “Hoosiers at the grass roots have responded with tremendous enthusiasm to Dan Coats' candidacy because they want to be heard and represented in Washington. Dan Coats will file more signatures than the number required. Gathering them on such short notice shows that Hoosiers want a check and balance on the President's extreme liberal agenda."

Something seems amiss here. Let's run it through the spin-translator to see what he's really saying.

“Hoosiers (any registered voter we could accost) at the grass roots (in the Kroger parking lot) have responded (begrudgingly) with tremendous enthusiasm (with fear and loathing) to Dan Coats' (our retread) candidacy (no word for this in English) because they want (to be left alone) to be heard and represented (seriously, leave me alone) in Washington (as I load my groceries). Dan Coats will file more signatures (we only had 7 days so we better flood the system with them) than the number required (pesky law). Gathering (harassing) them (them) on such short notice shows (absolutely nothing) that Hoosiers (Faulkner Strategies and recently-canned RNC hack Anne Hathaway) want a check (need work) and balance (and a client) on the President's extreme liberal agenda (we think it's going to be a good year and want to cash-in)."

Well friends of LGM, it was only a matter of time. We're emerging from of our social media underground and breaking out into the realm of the blogosphere. We figured Hoosiers have simmered enough on the Dan Coats' candidacy, and you the reader have generated enough of a buzz about our output to warrant a blog. So, here it is in all it's splendor.
